Belief is Power

In Descension, belief is power; the power to shape the world in your image and to bend it to your whim. Throughout the history of the world, nations and tribes have risen and fallen through the power of belief alone. In no other place is this more encapsulated than Magetz, where belief manifests concretely. The history of all its tribes, nations and organisations are all bound by varying beliefs and values. As a player, it is an exploration of those existing beliefs and immersing in them.

Belief is Weakness

In Descension, belief is weakness; a flaw, an exploit used by those with the means to subjugate. Belief is what binds us to our ill-conceited reality and shackles us to be withered by the passage of time.

The City

The City, Magetz, stands at the neck of the world, above the conflicting powers that surround it. It imposes authority over its neighbours, carved into the top of a long dormant volcano. The tribes that have engraved their will into its peak have forged its natural irons into large walls, acting as both social dividers and retaining walls for its ever growing and expanding population.

Its culturally isolated history has given rise to it as a lone city state, making it the ire of many nations whom want its lands and wealth for themselves. In the centuries since its founding, its central geopolitical position has made it a prime target for cultural and political infiltration by its neighbouring nations.
